Sorry, I need to take the time to tackle this.

However, when trying to clone with ssh write access, I'm getting an
error:
git clone ssh://git.gnome.org/git/hitori
Cloning into 'hitori'...
fatal: protocol error: bad line length character: This

Same error with "git clone ssh://translations git gnome org/git/hitori"
