Doesn't Damned lies already handle that? If one grabs the latest
merged po from there to work on, that should be enough, right?
In theory, yes, however, the issue here is that damned-lies doesn't
provide you the latest po file for gnome-shell, because it chokes on
its submodules. In that case you need to generate one by yourself
locally, and that's what these commands do.
