How about building gtxml checks into d-l and into git pre-commit hooks? There is a bit of brainstorming about the former in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=667207 There is nothing about the latter AFAIK, but I'm willing to file a bug if someone tells me the right component.
