Hi everybody
We all love our workflow here, I'm sure. Intltool is a big part of
that, I'm really happy with how it works, with one big frustration still
outstanding:
Bug 566044
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=566044
I recently had a new volunteer for my language translating gbrainy, but
the questions, tips and answers for the verbal analogies were nowhere
close to each other - a big frustration. Since some of the verbal
analogies in gbrainy are not translated literally, it made it really
hard to keep non-obvious translations of questions and answers
synchronised where they had to be adapted to suit our language. Having
these strings close to each other would have been a great help.
Rail Aliev submitted a patch to the bug to stop intltool-extract from
sorting the messages alphabetically, but to keep them in their natural
order. Now consecutive menu entries from Glade files should actually
appear consecutively in the POT file - which will help with context and
make choosing the correct accelerator an even faster exercise.
Please test out the patch and see if it works well for everything. I
believe it will be a great help if we can get this into intltool as soon
as possible, so please comment in the bug if you support this change (or
even just to thank Rail).
Keep well
Friedel
