Inactive Translation Team

Hello I have recently been translating parts of GNOME into Welsh[0] (cy)
on the Damned Lies interface. I have so far translated 8 GNOME
projects, 7 of those being Welsh[1]. I have done some analysis on all
of the git repositories under the "Desktop" category with the results on
a Google Docs spreadsheet[2]. In the past 2 years there have been 13
po/cy.po files edited. In the past year just 3 po/cy.po files were
changed and since the beginning of 2010 there have been no changes to
the "Desktop" category. A surprising 45 out of 105 (43%) of all of the
"Desktop" category repositories have no po/cy.po file.

I've already emailed Dafydd Harries (Cc'd in this email), the current
coordinator on August 5th, a copy of that email can be found attached.
The contents of the email is in Welsh however roughly translated I've
asked whether or not he's interested on working in GNOME as I need to
have confirmation to have somebody with git access to be able to upload
to the git repo in order to one day have git access myself.

I would like to be able to commit my own translations to GNOME however I
cannot get a response from the coordinator to be able to request a
friend of mine (on the en_GB team) to be able to upload a few po files
for me. I'm unsure of what steps to take next and any advice would be
appreciated.

With kind regards,
Christopher Swift.

Helo Dafydd,
Rydw i'n ysgrifennu atoch chi achos fy mod i wedi trio cyfieithu GNOME
yn Gymraeg ers mis Mai. Rydw i eisiau gofyn i chi os ydych chi eisiau
cyfieithu neu weithio ar GNOME achos bod angen i mi gael help gyda
lanlwytho i'r repo GIT. Rydw i'n gwybod eich bod chi ddim yn medru
lanlwytho ond mae angen i chi ddweud ei fod yn iawn er mwyn mi (neu
rhwyun arall) yn medru lanlwytho.

Yn edrych ymlaen at glywed gennych chi,
Christopher Swift
