FWIW, I'd like to second what Clytie said -- the GNOME Translation
Project is very much tied to GNOME CVS in its workflow, so using it
for translation of offsite projects is probably bound to be
problematic, if at all possible.
The Translation Project [1] is a much better fit, that Translation
Project was specifically designed to host the translation effort for
"offsite" projects, and it has a very large number of active
translators.
