Description:
This project will help localise Gnome to Afrikaans. 
We will strive for the highest quality translations possible as it will
be dictated by the number of volunteer participation in various tasks. 
This project is a subproject of The Gnome Translation Project (GTP)
http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/ 
specifically to support the Afrikaans Language Team of GTP.

What is Afrikaans? 
------------------
Afrikaans is one of the official languages of South Africa.
It is also spoken in neighbouring countries Zimbabwe and Namibia,
and also by many South-Africans all over the world.
It is mainly a Germanic language which started to develop in the 
17th century in South Africa and is spoken by people of
various different races and cultures.
