Font names can not be copyrighted. Copyright doesn't apply to short
phrases. They can only be *trademarked*.

They can. Let's say you have a copyrighted black and white logo or
picture. One can't include it in a font without your permission. I guess
a famous example is the Apple's logo. (Although for this specific case,
it may be a trademark problem, not a copyright one).
