Well, if someone is willing to do the work (and someone apparently is,
or I wouldn't be adding it to the list), I don't see a reason why
not.

Lets not start a discussion of whether we do need en_GB or en_CA or
sr@ije: as long as someone is working on that, lets not discourage
them.

I don't see a reason why not -- if anyone steps forward, I believe
you should encourage them to help out as well.

I subscribe to the philosophy of "let people use their own
language/dialect", and that's the beauty of free software: it allows
exactly that.

[We've also implemented a feature to "hide" language from status
pages, so if anyone so desires, he may start a "slang Italian"
translation, for those wishing to have more fun :]

These are things that really exist.  You, using Latin alphabet,
probably don't have much to worry about: you can simply use the same
word there. (But, with you being Italian and therefore quite close to
the Balkan area, I'm almost positive that you have a corresponding
word for each of the dialects used around here :)
