There're better ways if you need not actually look at all the
entries.  See below for some samples.

msgfmt -o test.mo translation.po
msgunfmt -o test.po test.mo

This will get you PO file with translated entries only.  You can
simply intltool-update it to get all the other as untranslated.

Next, try playing with msggrep, msgfilter and msgen-generated
"translations" (you can use this as compendium for msgmerge -C to
fill-in all untranslated entries).

I mostly translate them, but didn't get to it yet for the big
update.  The catch is that I tend to transcribe names which are
familiar (i.e. they're pronounced in a certain way, so I can write
them with Cyrillic which is phonetic for Serbian), or translate those
which have their translations.

I've done my share, so no one should mistake Banja Luka to be in
Serbia and/or Montenegro anymore :)
