That is "ascii", not English.

Indeed, there are 4 letters differing between the two keyboards.

It may be interesting to be able to type those ukrainian letters trough
compose sequences (in the same way as it is possible to type most latin
special letters trough compose sequences, that is, independently of the
keyboard layout).

I had already made a compose sequence for the ghe with upturn and io:
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_ghe> <bar> : Ukrainian_ghe_with_upturn
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_io> <colon> : Cyrillic_io

What about these extra propositions:
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_e> <Cyrillic_e> : Ukrainian_ie
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_i> <colon> : Ukrainian_yi
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_i> <period> : Ukrainian_i
<Multi_key> <Ukrainian_ie> <Ukrainian_ie> : <Cyrillic_e>
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_be> <Cyrillic_be> : Cyrillic_softsign
<Multi_key> <Cyrillic_be> <bar> : Cyrillic_yeru

are there other combinations more natural ?
Would it be a good idea to have the extra ukrainian keys typeable
trough compose sequences ?
