I think some bits of background information are missing here:

	* xscreensaver is not a gnome app, and it doesn't live (nor has
	  trditionaly lived) in gnome cvs

	* a copy was temporarily imported into the gnome cvs so that the
	  gtk+ pieces of it could be more easily ported to gtk+2

	* somehow a release of the imported into gnome cvs xscreensaver
	  got out into the wild, causing some amounts of confusion,
	  resulting in Jamie requesting it was removed from gnome cvs

	* thus the appearance of there being an xscreensaver in gnome cvs
	  is deceptive - there isn't "really"
