Unfortunately not - afaik the IMs need an editable context to live in
and that's not available, so only things that are both keysyms and
characters can work as menu shortcuts.

I believe the CJKers get round this problem by translating the menus
from, say, "_File" to "xxxx (_F)", you might try that?
