For many of them, yes.

I'm fairly sure it has to be done manually by the translators. Changes
in branches are not automatically incorporated back into HEAD.
It's good that you brought up this point -- please remember everyone
that it may be a good idea to use your gnome-2-0 translation as a start
when you update the GNOME 2.1 (HEAD) translation, in case the former is
newer.
