Translations for GNOME 2.1.x, come from HEAD or gnome-2-0?

Obviously from http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/status/
the translations of the packages come from HEAD.
What is the process of transferring the translations from branch
'gnome-2-0' to GNOME 2.x.1 (HEAD)? Should it be done manually by each
translator or is there a one off copy from 'gnome-2-0'?
