Ok, I'm trying to compile gnome-control-center, but I get the following:
(My GNOME 1.x is under /opt and some GNOME2 modules under /gnome2)
$ ./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt
...
checking for imlib-config... /opt/bin/imlib-config
checking for IMLIB - version >= 1.8.2... yes
checking for pkg-config... /gnome2/bin/pkg-config
checking for pkg-config >= 0.8.0... found
checking for pkg-config... /gnome2/bin/pkg-config
checking for libcapplet >= 1.4.0 libglade-gnome gdk_pixbuf bonobo_conf >=
0.7 gdk_pixbuf_xlib gal > 0.8 ... Package libcapplet was not found in the
pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing ibcapplet.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libcapplet' found
configure: error: Library requirements (libcapplet >= 1.4.0 libglade-gnome
gdk_pixbuf bonobo_conf >= 0.7 gdk_pixbuf_xlib gal > 0.8 ) not met; consider
adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in
a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
a) What is "libcapplet"?
(AFAIK capplet library is part of "old" control-center)
b) Is pkg-config a part of GNOME 1.x platform?!
I cannot translate the program without running it first...
