The module was building except maybe on Solaris, though my Solaris
maintainer (Gary Pennington from the Solaris OS group at Sun) did not
complain. This Makefile wasn't changed from the previous release.
If it had been that broken I assume people would have complained loudly
after my previous release.

You're mistaken, I do my best to avoid breaking the build. And I always
apply patches ASAP when something like this happen. The issue you're
making reference to was not of the same kind.

You're talking a lot, show me one person who had a problem with
the critical problem that Jacob had with this which required that patch.
Even better, look at the patch, and run the build before and after and
show me where it break and the platform, then we can discuss who
it was affecting.
In that case you're trying to push a wrong issue which had nothing in
common with what I reacted against.

Now if you really want to get me in a bad mood just repeat again
that you really wanted to have Gnome2 XML parser accept non XML input
for the sake of not breaking the pre-beta builds.... That was actually
fixed relatively easilly, and didn't end up the end of the world you were
making a fuss about :-)

Can we stop this now ? Jacob and me have been discussing calmy
on the technical parts, and we'd better all go back to work.
