To make a good translation you usually do run the program to see how it
looks with the new translation. Contexts are often missing in the po file
so you can't translate and know that the result is good until you test it.
Also in many cases you have to check that the translation is not to big or
to small to fit, so that the result looks good when you run the program.

How can you make a good translation without taking home the correct
branch, compile it and test it. I don't understand that.

It's not enough to just get a po file and translate. It's better then
nothing but it does not give a good translation. We need translations with
a high quality.
