I actually cut and pasted the gnome_uri_list_extract_filenames.

But i agree that this is broken. One way is to instead cut and paste from 
gnome-vfs. Another to add g_local_path_to/from_uri () to glib.

I think adding the glib function would be good, possilby even adding 
gtk_dnd_urilist_explode() and gtk_dnd_urilist_create ().

BUT, we're in API freeze.... What to do? Create a cut and paste 
repository?
