Re: adding a icon in GNOME panel as default?

Brian,

You missed something here. Here's a user complaining that he can't find
something to customize his Linux box, even though he may be on the wrong
list, but he's a USER who's lost BECAUSE of the GUI of GNOME!! While I
don't mean to hit you over the head with a nerf hammer, I'd at least
like to point out that every user like this who complains is an
opportunity to find out what THEY think of our GUI system. While I
applaud your answering him, the GNOME GUI developer should be asking
this guy some questions regarding the GNOME GUI: he's a user who's
willing to talk to developers!

Bottom line: if Linux is to move into the mainstream, then useabiltiy
needs to be better in order for GNOME to pass the Mom test. Those who
have used Macs (like myself) or Windows (like my wife) will be looking
for similar user experiences and the default settings need to be similar
to the other OSes. With OS X now in play, the closer we are to their UI,
the easier it is for them to migrate to Linux.

Just some thoughts.
