Hi,
This last week we've been talking about the best ways to give the user
some feedback when he/she launches an application. Besides splash screens
several solutions were proposed.
I thought it could be a good idea to write a document with our conclusions
about the subject. I think nobody disagrees with the inclusion of Xalf as
a default GNOME application, but IMHO writting down what has been
discussed in this list could be a good start point to begin improving it.
I have already started a first draft of the document, with the mails I had
kept and what I remembered. If you think it's a bad idea to write this
document just ignore it. If you like the idea I can continue writing it
and I'd appreciate some feedback so that I don't make many mistakes ;-)
You can find the draft in:
www.jorgeferrer.com/gnome/app-launch.html
Feel free to criticize the document (or my poor english). I've had a hard
time with some parts of it because IMO we didn't get to any conclusion, so
you may not agree with what I have written in this first draft, if so I'll
change it :-)
bye,
Jorge
