err... sorry, but you really should NOT spend time convincing people. if
only a small minority disagrees, leave the convincing to the majority who
nods. if the majority disagrees, it's time for YOU to rethink, because no
matter how good you think things are (and even no matter how good they
really are!) they have to have a broad support or they will simply never
happen.

then lie back and do your silent creating. all the while we will go on and
discuss a style guide of our own, ripping it apart in exactly the way you
fear for yours. if you listen, I bet you will get a lot of input for your
work, and when things are done we will go and compare.

big plus: things that are similiar in both documents don't need ANY
discussion at that point.
