it should be either the default "Program" label, a label of choice, or an icon
of choice. it should also be configurable to go on the right side if the user
desires. this can all go in the Look and Feel Preferences

all in all, this seems like the most agreed-on solution. federico, could this
be presented as your first style guide proposal?
