Re: [gnome-flashback] Edubuntu gone, time for a gnome-flashback flavor?

Hi all,

Right, this is basically a project to help tracking bugs in various packages
that affect our session.

Yesterday I saw this:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-flashback
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-flashback
https://github.com/ubuntu-flashback

That sounds good, but definitely there shouldn't be two different projects
for that. I'll try to contact that guy and check what his plans are and
whether he can use the existing project for his work.

I have plenty of things to do upstream:
[...]

And this is not full list... So I have almost no time to help make/maintain
Ubuntu GNOME Flashback. :(

- Dmitry, do you have time to continue what you started?

Unfortunately, I also don't have time to maintain an Ubuntu flavor.
This is quite lots of work including:

- Maintaining a seed (the list of packages used to build the images);
- Maintaining artwork (own logo, custom slides for the installer, etc);
- Regularly testing daily images;
- Testing the candidates for alpha/beta releases in time and fixing the
  blocking issues, if there are any;
- Writing release notes, sending announcements, maintaining a website, etc.

I am planning to continue maintaining the packages (what I currently do), and
if someone wants to become a flavor maintainer, I will definitely help him
with sponsoring uploads, understanding the procedures, etc.

- We could try to contact with user from (
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-flashback) project.

I will do that.

Also right now Dmitry is only one who can upload packages to ubuntu.

As I said, if will sponsor the uploads for everybody who wants to help with
packaging. Also, it's quite easy to get the per-package upload rights in
Ubuntu, especially if one is upstream contributor to the packages in question.
