metacity 3.18.x and 3.16.x depends on GTK+ 3.16 so that might be another problem.

Sorry for bugging you, i'm newbie, was setting and recompiling Compiz for two days now to get to this point and feel little dizzy. As a linux-jedi can you point me the way on how to get metacity 3.16, won't stand another couple of days if researching and reading forums - copy/pasting error output)

Easiest way probably would be to use compiz 0.9.12.1 tarball as that release works with metacity 3.14. Otherwise if you want to build compiz from trunk than you will need to revert this:

maybe that's why upon start gtk-window-decorator gives an error

GLIB-GIO-ERROR: Settings schema 'org. gnome. metacity' does not contain a key named 'theme'

only thing that is marked not found in cmake log is libmetacity-private. even though it's installed in /usr/lib
