Re: [gnome-flashback] Bug nominations for 3.8.1

I think for ubuntu and compiz it should be gnome-flashback-compiz.desktop not gnome-fallback.desktop

So one thing I wanted to bring up before the release:

I'm planning to rename the xsession file to gnome-flashback.desktop also.

Ideally this should have gone into 3.8.0, but Jeremy reverted it, to
keep compatibility where users had chosen the old
"gnome-fallback.session" Debian / Ubuntu mode. I was torn about this at
the time of the 3.8.0 release, but kept it for compatibility. Since
then, I have learned that "gnome-fallback" actually means something
different in ubuntu (flashback with compiz) than in debian (flashback).

So I'd rather have a clean break, and have it now, before 3.8 really
starts hitting distibutions.

This would mean that in the future:
 * "gnome-flashback.desktop" is the session file for plain Flashback
mode (metacity+gnome-panel) everywhere.
 * "gnome-fallback.desktop" in Ubuntu could start the compiz+gnome-panel
mode, as it did in the past.
 * "gnome-fallback.desktop" in Debian would disappear, or could point to
the normal flashback mode, or could have a migration assistance in the DM.

Speak now or forever hold your peace. :-)

Cheers
  Philipp
