Please note that "the Launcher" is a Unity term, and that component was
present up to 17.04 in standard Ubuntu. Ubuntu 17.10, with gnome-shell,
is shipped with the extension "the Dock". And yes, they are pretty much
the same thing. The Swedish translators decided to use the same
translated term for "the Dock" as for "the Launcher".
"The Dash" in gnome-user-docs is the thing to the left when you run the
vanilla GNOME desktop. It's not shown in Ubuntu 17.10, but replaced with
"the Dock". And yes, they are also similar.
This is indeed somewhat confusing. Personally, from a translations POV,
I think it makes sense to use the same translated term for all three of
them. Can't tell for sure if doing so will be suitable in all contexts,
though.
