Hi,
Getting to Brno is quite a simple affair. Whether you come trough Vienna
or Prague, the easiest connection is probably the bus service operated
by StudentAgency.
For reservations and schedules see: http://jizdenky.studentagency.cz/
If you prefer the comfort of the railway, trains from both cities leave
every hour. Below are some details which we hope are useful to you.
* Vienna
- Buses:
The easiest and fastest way to get to Brno is probably by bus.
StudentAgency operates a bus service between Vienna Airport and Brno:
One way will cost you around 17 EUR. Make sure to reserve return tickets
a few days ahead. For reservations and schedules see:
http://jizdenky.studentagency.cz/
- Trains:
The best way to get from the airport to the centre is the S-Bahn 7 (city
railway), which takes about 25 minutes and costs around 4 EUR.
The more expensive CAT line uses the same route, but takes takes 6
minutes less and costs around 12 EUR.
Trains between Vienna Main Train Station and Brno Main Train Station
leave every hour and costs around 19 EUR.
You can buy tickets at the train station or book online:

- Buses:
Again, the fastest way to get to Brno is probably by bus. StudentAgency
operates a bus service between Vaclav Havel Airport and Brno:
One way will cost you around 15 EUR. Make sure to reserve return tickets
a few days ahead.
If you want to see the city first, take the shuttle bus (AE) to the main
train station and hop onto the underground (short time ticket 0,80 EUR)
in direction of Kobylisy.
Get off the next stop at Florenc. When leaving the rear stairs (the ones
with the lift and without escalators), the exit to the bus station is
the first on the right side.
StudentAgency operates a bus service between Prague - Florenc and Brno
which leaves every 1/2 hour and takes about 2 1/2 hours. One way will
cost you around 8 EUR.
Make sure to reserve return tickets a few days ahead.
For reservations and schedules see: http://jizdenky.studentagency.cz/
- Trains:
The Airport bus (AE) drops you off in front of the train station. Trains
leave every hour and take a little less than 3 hours.
Tickets are sold at the counter and cost between 9 and 13 EUR depending
on the route.
* Brno:
- At the airport
The City of Brno operates a bus service between the Airport Brno -
Turany and the city centre. The bus #76 leaves every 30 minutes.
Tickets cost around 1.20 EUR or 30 Czk and are valid for the complete
trip to your hotel.
- At the bus station
We should be able to have somebody meet you at the bus station and help
get the right tram to your hotel, at least on Thursday.
- At the train station
We should be able to have somebody meet you at the bus station and help
you get the right tram to your hotel , at least on Thursday.
