gnome-user-doc .gitignore rules

In .gitignore we have:
/gnome-help/??/*.page
/gnome-help/??/legal.xml
/gnome-help/??/figures/
1) Is there any reason to exclude the figures?
2) the rules should be "??*/" instead of "??/" because some language codes have 5 chars, like pt_BR. What we want to exclude is all except "C/".
