This would require updating the screenshot in the 3.2 release-notes, but
I can do that tomorrow (or anybody feel free to if you have time).

Totally +1. Actually Empathy's "old" search field design is what is
Evolution's search field design (with a dropdown for the first icon), so
this should also get changed in Evolution 3.3.x for the sake of
consistency.
