Building yelp 3

Hi All,
Need some help building yelp-3.0. I've built yelp-xsl and the latest version of gio (installing as root), but still get this message:
Requested 'gio-2.0 >= 2.25.3' but version of GIO is 2.24.1
No package 'yelp-xsl' found
Maybe I don't have them in my path? If someone could help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.
