==========================================================
toggle
Something which may be switched on or off. May be used
as an adjective, as in "toggle key" or "toggle button".
Do not use as a verb; instead, use terms such as "switch",
"turn on", and "turn off".
Correct:
Click Toolbar on the View menu to turn on or off the toolbar.
Incorrect:
Click Toolbar on the View menu to toggle the toolbar.
==========================================================
This is basically the same as what Microsoft says.
Apple says not to use "toggle" as a verb in user
documentation, but doesn't give any detail.
Aside from being a sort of geeky word, "toggle"
as a verb presents translation problems.
