Getting Up to Speed

Hey,

I am new to this list, and the documentation project as a whole and would like to contribute. I was wondering where is the best place to start.

I have checked the Wiki (http://live.gnome.org/DocumentationProject_2fJoin) which pointed me to here. I see that the best way is to contribute patches (in Docbook for Yelp??), but then while reading the mailing list I see that a lot of movement is going on in the wiki instead? Is this the new preferred method of contributing? particularly for user guide type documents?

As far as making it easier to contribute, I favour the wiki. I am interested in helping with the User docs, and as I am also a beginning developer I might have a go at drafting up a TOC for the http://live.gnome.org/IdealDeveloperDocumentation as I would consider myself taking a similar path to start developing with Gnome as many?? new contributors.

Let me know your thoughts,

John
