Wow, I didn't know we'd put an option for that in the UI, it's
always been a hidden option up to now. (Used to be on by default
until circa GNOME 2.0, until it was pointed out how many people
screwed up their shortcuts by mistake and had no idea why or what
to do about it...)
Oh, and it also used to be the case that it didn't work for many
apps, because a lot of them were using bonobo menus rather than gtk
ones, which didn't support it. I guess that's less of an issue now,
but you might want to check the core apps at least in case there's
any you need to mention as incompatible...
