introduction

Greetings,

My name is Travis Lotz.  I have recently registered on the gnome-doc mailing
list.  I am interested in contributing documentation to the project.  My
background is predominantly in electronics and semiconductors.  Previously,
I have written a short procedure manual for an automated test apparatus in a
contract manufacturing environment.  By volunteering work for the gnome
project, I hope to gain experience necessary to help me transition into a
rewarding career as a technical writer.  Currently, other informative sites
which I have visited include:  The Society of Technical Communication -
Phoenix Chapter, Raycomm.com, OnlineLearning.com, and, of course, Open
Source Writers Group.  If there are other career professionals in transition
out there who can identify with me, or any seasoned technical writers
willing to offer tips and suggestions, or anyone who would like to chat with
me, I would love to hear from you.
