RE: Java and Bonobo communication via CORBA

Michael,

Thank you for the pointers.  From what you've told me I've been able to
implement a CORBA interface to the Bonobo Activation Context object.  I am
able to list all of the different servers available via the directories()
method, but then when I try to activate any of them I get an
IncompleteContext exception...?  What properties is the method looking for
in the context object?  Is it looking for a specific context name?

I've been browsing the bonobo-activation code for a while now trying to find
the answer but I haven't been able to as of yet... any help would be much
appreciated!

Hi Patrick,

	It seems you're using a mechanism that we stopped using some years ago
to export the Name Server IOR ;-) it seems the docs don't get updated as
fast as the code.

	We now use bonobo-activation which is not tied to X - the best way to
use it is to fork 'activation-client' and ask it to activate the
component for you that you're interested in.

	Also; Sun are investing some effort in making Java/Bonobo work nicely -
so it's perhaps best to talk to Antonio who can prolly tell you more
about all of this in depth.
