gnome-libs-1.0.56 problem

Has anyone else had a problem with gnome-terminal since upgrading to
gnome-libs-1.0.56?  Mine no longer works... the window opens up, but
there's nothing in it except a blank menu bar and a big blank area, and
it becomes completely insensitive to all input.  I have to kill it off
to get rid of it.  I'm using gnome-core-1.1.3, by the way (1.1.4 has too
many bugs for me).
