SGML to HTML Problem

When I type make gnome-db.html, make issues the command: 
db2html gnome-db.sgml

and this command outputs errors (LOTS of them) like 
working on ../gnome-db.sgml

and then:
jade:I: maximum number of errors (200) reached; change with -E option

and the gnome-db.html file I get does not reflect what is in the gnome-db.sgml.
I use:
jadetex-2.7-0,
jade-1.2.1-4,
docbook-3.1-11mdk,
sgml-common-0.1-3 and
stylesheets-0.10-2

can someone help (what do I need to update?)
