Re: Jenkins-based Continuous

Hi,

I actually think this aspect of gnome-continuous is an advantage: it
answers a simple question: "Does GNOME build right now ?" - not some
muddy in-between question like "Can you get the most important parts
of GNOME to build if you disregard all the broken nonessentials, and
hold your breath ?" -

Current model will tell 'no, at least gnome-foo is failing, oh, other might break too, like libbar, but first take a look at gnome-foo'.

SDK+Apps model will report:
1) No, libfoo is broken, urgently take a look, as it blocks other projects cannot be rebuilt.
Older SDK version might work, but its not guaranteed.

2) Kind of, gnome-bar update has broken gnome-foo and gnome-foo-plugins, other apps and SDK are unaffected.

 3) Yes, but app gnome-foo is broken

thats the question that jhbuild lets you find the answer to...

Ain't nobody got time for that! :)
Last time this situation got 'resolved' by dropping gnome-calculator and gnome-music, which is not really a solution.

Thanks,
 Vadim
