Re: how to delete local address books + issues with online accounts

Wait, I have an important question.
I've noticed that if I launch gnome-contacts from terminal I can't see any contact. It works only if I use the usual launcher.
Why?

After rebooting the local address books are vanished, as I wished, and
Google contacts are now visible.
Probably restarting the Gnome session would have been enough.

Sorry for the noise

Hi

I'm giving a try to gnome-contacts. It seems really nice but I've had
several problems so far and couldn't test it.
I have a couple of questions, I hope you can help me.

I'm on Debian testing.
gnome-contacts 3.4.1-1+b1

1) How to delete local address books?
In my first try I used Evolution contacts, but as Evolution seems buggy
and can't edit any contact or import .vcf file I decided to purge it
away from my computer (I use Thunderbird as email client).

Nevertheless, Gnome Contacts still see the address books I had created
inside Evolution. I wonder where they come from. I'm sure I've removed
any personal data of Evolution:

$ find . -name 'evolution'
./.gnome2/accels/evolution

IIUC, Gnome Contacts can't delete local address books, because they are
created by other applications (such as Evolution).

If I launch it from terminal I get the following output:

$ gnome-contacts

(gnome-contacts:29529): libebook-WARNING **: e_book_client_new: Cannot
get book from factory: Invalid source

(gnome-contacts:29529): folks-WARNING **: Error preparing persona store
'eds:1275848269.4125.1@fede-desktop': Couldn't open address book
?1275848269.4125.1@fede-desktop?: Invalid source

2) Online accounts
I've added my Google account in the Online Account configuration of
Gnome. Google address book is appeared in Gnome Contacts but if I switch
to it no contact is displayed.

Last question: can gnome-contacts connect to some vcard personal server?
Or should I wait for gnome-online-account to support OwnCloud?

Thanks in advance
