Well if memory serves me right, bonobo in gnome2 is not much different.
Its just that its now the foundation of Gnome as a whole.

Besides you can check developer.gnome.org for pointers to tutorials around
the net. Check the one on ibm.com. Those tutorials are good.

Alternatively I'd recommend seeing source code of 
1) The BonoboControl for gnome-mines. Its in the bonobo distro I think.
2) EOG. Only the bonobo part. It was really helpful, because its a simple
   embedding of widget.
