Gnorba is dead :)

OAF is the current solution to those problems :)

there is fairly good documentation in OAF: cvs module oaf or more simply
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/unstable/sources/oaf/oaf-0.6.1.tar.gz
