Sorry, I missed your original reply. That output looks fine, so it's
something odd, possibly a badly corrupted EDID we're not working
around. Could you get the reporter to do:

killall gnome-settings-daemon
killall gnome-settings-daemon
(then do alt-f4 to clear the fail whale)
/usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon --debug

And then get him to attach the *whole* report somewhere. Thanks.
