I have amended the text around the preferences and advanced preferences
sections of the help file. I have included (but not altered) the text
you said should go in about gamma. 

The text is not perfect but I think that it is better than what was
there. 

I cannot alter the section on Calibration as I do not have the hardware
to check out the interface yet (gcm is the first software that made me
want to buy it!).

If anyone has anything to add to the help files but does not want to
update them then just let me know.
