That is all I get from gcm. I am running Fedora 12 and have compiled gcm
from the GIT. I only ever connect my camera to copy files to disc. I
never ever read them directly with an application, or not in my normal
workflow. That is I only use my Nikon as a (very expensive) memory
stick! OK Fedora uses gphoto2 and gvfs.

As requested 'udevadm moniotor' when connecting the camera gives:

[paul ewing ~]udevadm monitor
monitor will print the received events for:
UDEV - the event which udev sends out after rule processing
KERNEL - the kernel uevent

KERNEL[1266321215.801858]
add /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5 (usb)
KERNEL[1266321215.802262]
add /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5/1-5:1.0 (usb)
UDEV [1266321215.813200]
add /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5 (usb)
UDEV [1266321215.821229]
add /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5/1-5:1.0 (usb)

Nautilus then lets me view photos using:

gphoto2://[usb:001,009]/DCIM/100ND700

Thanks
