Libdmapsharing is a library you may use to access and share media content
using DMAP. The library is written in C using GObject and libsoup. The
DMAP family of protocols are used by products such as Apple iTunes, Apple
iPhoto, and the Roku SoundBridge family to share media such as music
and photos. Libdmapsharing supports both the client- and server-side
portions of DMAP.

Thanks to the Google Summer of Code work performed by Alexandre Rosenfeld
and support from the Rhythmbox development team, libdmapsharing now
supports DACP. This means that applications like Rhythmbox may use
libdmapsharing so that they may be controlled by DACP-capable devices,
like iOS devices running Apple's Remote application.
