Gnome menu again

Morning,
I mean, I  used to access the menu by
pressing
<alt> + F1, but now I get a  big place to
navigate
around by mouse, the old way worked for me, and
I wish it
back.
I still think about gconf-editor, and the classic and
the
modern style.
It'd be the best solution.
