Hi,
I'm also posting to GNOME Accessibility List because others can also
be interested. Sorry for not being more clear about the two
magnifiers.
GS-mag is a new magnifier being developed inside GnomeShell (GS) as a plugin.
With GNOME 3.0 GS will be the default desktop and compositor.
Gnome-mag is also a compositor, so it doesn't interact well with GS,
but there will be some users that will not be able to run GS and will
need gnome-mag.
What we already have done is a default D-BUS interface that GS-mag and
gnome-mag implements (there are some minor bits that need adjustments,
like names, some missing methods for one magnifier or the other).
With this, the scenario will be: If GS is running and the user start
Orca, it will use GS-mag, otherwise gnome-mag will be activated.
Hope this make the plans for the future cleaner.
Best regards,
Carlos.
