speech synth callbacks

Hello

Finnish speech synth maker is willing to make reguired changes to their api so 
that callbacks can be implemented properly. As I "understand" at the moment 
there are two callbacks busy and utternance index. What would be you advice 
what callback features should a proper speech synth provide.
