Keybindings ATK and JAVA

In Java, if the documentation,
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/javax/accessibility/AccessibleKeyBinding.h
tml, is to be believed, AccessibleKeyBinding is used only to identify the
keystrokes required to select an object.
This seems to be different to what is proposed for ATK. Is this difference
intended?
